About this file
This Shipping Instructions document outlines the mandatory delivery and product requirements for bidders responding to the State of Iowa's food items procurement for the CDC Warehouse in Woodward, Iowa. All freight charges and fuel costs must be included in the bid price, with delivery required to the warehouse. Products must arrive on pallets and shrink-wrapped in clean, insulated trailers within 30 days of purchase order receipt; any deliveries exceeding this timeline will result in the contract being awarded to the next lowest bidder or re-bid. The Agency reserves the right to refuse freight that does not meet specifications, contains damaged products, or includes frozen canned goods. Bidders may be required to submit samples for testing and must provide proof of pack date and pack origin upon request, with pack date codes accompanied by a decryption key as needed.
Responsible bidders must comply with all shipping instructions to maintain contract eligibility and must ship only the products indicated in their submitted bid. All products require proper labeling and must meet USDA grade standards for both product and container condition; bidders bear full responsibility for ensuring compliance with these standards. The Agency will credit partial load damage or refuse entire loads at its discretion, with bidders responsible for pickup and replacement costs as well as any costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse. Preference will be given to products packed in the USA. Bidders should note that the solicitation was posted February 16, 2024, with responses due March 4, 2024, and registration on the IMPACS Electronic Procurement System website is required to submit a bid.
