About this file
This Shipping Instructions document outlines the delivery and product requirements that bidders must satisfy to be deemed responsible vendors for the Iowa CDC Warehouse food procurement. Bidders must deliver all products to the Woodward Distribution Center located at 1251 334th St., Woodward, Iowa 50276, with all freight charges and fuel costs included in the bid price on an FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid basis. Products must arrive within 30 days of purchase order receipt, properly palletized and shrink-wrapped in clean, insulated trailers, with all items meeting USDA grade standards for both product and container condition. The agency reserves the right to refuse freight that does not meet specifications, contains damaged products, or arrives with compromised packaging, and may require sample submissions for testing prior to award. Bidders are responsible for providing proof of pack date and origin upon request, ensuring all products are labeled with accompanying pack date code keys, and must ship only the specific products indicated in their submitted bids.
All freight refusing due to damage, specification non-compliance, or late arrival will result in the bidder being responsible for pickup costs and any expenses incurred by the CDC Warehouse, with the contract potentially being awarded to the next lowest bidder or re-bid. While consideration will be given to products packed in the USA, canned products cannot be received in frozen condition. Damaged packages located within pallet loads may be set aside for credit issuance, or the entire load may be rejected at the bidder's expense for removal. These requirements are mandatory conditions for bid acceptance and contract performance, establishing clear accountability for product quality, timely delivery, and compliance with all specified delivery protocols.
