PROJECT TITLE: # 3-19-026 Replace Sliding Door with Roll-up Door on Cold Storage Building
PROJECT NARRATIVE:
For site staff at Shelbyville F.W.A. to maneuver equipment more freely and utilize the entire capacity of the Cold Storage Building a new overhead door is needed. Once equipment is placed into the cold storage building it is hard to jockey the large equipment into the right space to maximize the capacity of the building. The overhead door will provide better access to enter / exit and will provide more maneuverability to place equipment in tight spaces of the building. The dimensions of the new overhead door will be 16’ W. x 12’ L.
A new header plate will be installed to accommodate the surface for the door to seal against. The new overhead door must be level and flush with the jamb plates. The overhead door will be raised and lowered by cables, tracks and a torsion bar. The torsion bar will have drums at each end, the drums will act as reels, winding up the cables therefore lifting the door. The new overhead door will have an access door installed in the panel of the overhead door. The door will allow access into the pole barn without requiring the overhead door to open. The door will have a weather seal on the bottom that will adjust to minor irregularities.
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. The Contractor will install new overhead door without distortion or stress. The Contractor will install all necessary appurtenances to install new overhead door.
2. The Contractor will securely brace door tracks suspended from structure. Secure tracks to structural members only.
3. The Contractor will fit and align door assembly including hardware, level and plumb, to provide smooth operation.
4. The Contractor will position head and jamb weather -stripping to contact door sections when closed; secure in position.
5. The Contractor will make wiring connections between power supply and operator and between operator and controls.
6. The Contractor will adjust to operate smoothly throughout full operating range.
