7.9. The building contains various of LBP building components. However, removal or replacement is permissible methods of abating lead hazards. Confirmation XRF testing on existing metal roof is not required. If the project includes field activities for repair or repaint such as dry sanding, dry scrapping or abrasive blasting that may disturb existing paint surfaces and release lead paint dust, the presence of LBP for the project areas and methods of abating lead hazards should be confirmed and coordinated with CEIE prior to construction.
7.10. All transformers and electrical equipment shall be properly removed and disposed of IAW USFK Reg 201-1, KEGS.

7.11. The Contractors are prohibited by 10 U.S.C. 2692 from storage, treatment, or disposal of any contractor owned hazardous waste on installation. The Contractors must get approval from HW Program Manager to store Hazardous Waste generated on-site in connection with a contract activity. HW storage will be on a temporary basis prior to disposal from Osan
AB.
7.12. The contractors need either 1) a permit to store hazardous waste while they are working on the installation or 2) they need to remove the hazardous waste from base within 24 hours. In either case, for disposal, the contractor needs to dispose of the waste in accordance with local regulations and provide a stamped manifest or other documentation demonstrating appropriate disposal to Environmental Office.
7.13. The Contractor shall implement Best Management Practices (BMP) specified on Table 4-8 of EGS and paragraph E.7 of the Osan AB Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for outdoor painting/de- painting activities. EGS and Osan SWPPP are available at CE Environmental Office, room #105, building 600, DSN 784-8974.
7.14. A dust controls plan shall be developed/implemented to take appropriate measure to minimize the generation of dust as a result of their works, operations, and activities during and after construction until the site is reclaimed. 1.3 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
Deliver waterproofing materials in manufacturer's original, unopened containers, with labels intact and legible.
Containers of materials covered by a referenced specification number shall bear the specification number, type, and class of the contents. Deliver materials in sufficient quantity to continue work without interruption. Store and protect materials in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, and use within their indicated shelf life.
Materials shall be stored in an area specifically designated for that purpose, in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, where temperatures will not be less than 10 degrees C (50 degrees F) or higher than 38 degrees C (100 degrees F). When hazardous materials are involved, adhere to special precautions of the manufacturer, unless precautions conflict with local, state, and federal regulations. Promptly remove from the site materials or incomplete work adversely affected by exposure to moisture or freezing. Store materials on pallets and cover from top to bottom with canvas tarpaulins.
1.4 JOB CONDITIONS
Do not apply elastomeric acrylic coating system components when the ambient and/or surface temperature is below 10 degrees C (50 degrees F) or above 43 degrees C (110 degrees F), if any surface moisture is present, when the dew point is within 3 degrees C (5 degrees F) of the surface temperature, or when there is a possibility of temperatures falling below 0 degrees C (32 degreesF) within a 24 hour period. Do not apply if weather conditions will not permit complete cure before rain, dew, fog or freezing temperatures occur. Do not spray apply if the wind velocity exceeds 16 kilometer per hour (10 MPH) without taking appropriate precautions to eliminate over-spray. Take all measures necessary to protect unrelated surfaces from coating over-sprays or spillage. Furnish all scaffolding and the necessary equipment to complete the work. Scaffolding shall comply with all requirements as to safety. Provide drop cloths and other forms of protection necessary to protect all adjoining surfaces to render them completely free of overspray and splashes. Any surfaces that have been damaged or splattered shall be cleaned, restored, or replaced.
If sealant is applied prior to sealer, a test must be conducted prior to installation to verify compatibility of the sealer and sealant. For interior application, provide ventilation or forced air circulation during and after interior application of sealer until any odor is no longer evident.
