About this file

This is a Service Body Specification document issued by Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) for the procurement of two (2) nine-foot enclosed fiberglass service bodies to be mounted on 2012 model Ford F-350 trucks with specific configurations including 60-inch cab-to-axle dimensions, 13,300 lb. GVW rating, dual rear wheels, and 6.2-liter gas engines with automatic transmissions. The specification details comprehensive requirements for the service bodies, including fiberglass construction with aluminum bulkheads, minimum dimensions of 107 inches in length, 90 inches in width, and 73 inches in interior height, along with detailed specifications for floor construction, doors, hinges, shelving systems, lighting, and paint finishes. The bid package requires vendors to provide the installed body unit price per vehicle for two units, with delivery to Maine DOT Fleet Services in Augusta, Maine, and mandates that bidders submit specification sheets and list any exceptions to the specifications as separate documents with their proposals.

Pricing shall include all mounting hardware, installation labor, and delivery to the Maine DOT facility. All bidders are required to certify service facility capability in Maine with trained service technicians and stocked repair parts for the equipment being bid, and failure to provide this documentation may result in bid rejection. The specification establishes minimum performance and construction standards while reserving the right for MaineDOT to evaluate bids based on price, warranty terms, manufacturer performance data, delivery schedules, parts availability, and other appropriate factors. Manufacturers' standard warranty terms and conditions must be included with bid proposals, with warranty coverage commencing upon the vehicle's in-service date. Bidders must submit manufacturer brochures and supporting documentation with their bids, and any non-listed exceptions will be deemed as vendor compliance with all stated specifications.
