About this file
This Statement of Requirements is for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's purchase of metal railings for the Sutro Baths tunnel. The contract requires acquiring speed railing components with specific part numbers, primarily 1-1/2" diameter pipes and fittings with an anodized finish and stainless steel hardware. The total quantity includes 50 units of several component types, with 12-60 units of pipes, and one shipping cost entry. The railings are needed to replace three broken/missing safety guard rails at different sections of the tunnel (40' x 36", 35' x 36", and 15' x 36") to prevent visitor falls and create a safety barrier along a steep ocean-side edge. Delivery is to be coordinated with the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, with 24-hour notice required, and must occur between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. The performance period is from September 1, 2025 through December 1, 2025, with delivery to 643 Old Mason St. in San Francisco, California.
