IDIQ Roofing Contract

Remove and Install Roof at El Portal Quarters 715

Objective

Yosemite National Park has a need for the in-kind replacement of an asphalt shingle roof that is at the end of its lifecycle. (See attached Map). In addition to the roof, removal and replacement of some fascia and metal drip edge is required.

Background

The roof on residence 715 is 2,900 square feet, composed of asphalt shingles. All components of the roof must be replaced in-kind as per NPS compliance standards. It is uncertain how much/if any of the decking will need to be replaced until the roofing material has been removed.

It is estimated that 120 linear feet of damaged fascia, 80 linear feet of gutters and metal drip edge need to be removed and replaced on the building.

Scope

• The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials to accomplish the work

• The contractor shall perform all work to meet the standards outlined within the IDIQ contract specifications

• The contractor shall remove all built up roofing

• The NPS will identify fascia to be removed and replaced

• The contractor shall remove and replace in kind the existing fascia

• The NPS will identify the metal drip edge to be removed and replaced

• The contractor shall remove and replace in kind the existing metal drip edge

• The NPS will identify the gutter and downspouts to be removed replaced

• The contractor shall remove and replace in kind the existing gutters and downspouts

• The contractor shall remove all associated debris and dispose of them in a responsible manner not within Yosemite National Park or its refuse collection containers

• The National Park Service will perform periodic inspections, provide a punch list as necessary, and perform a final acceptance inspection

Additional Information

HAULING RESTRICTIONS: Vehicles over 45 feet are prohibited and 1-way controlled traffic for all other vehicles 20 miles East of Mariposa (Mariposa County) 24 hours per day, seven days per week due to rockslide repairs.

ON-SITE WORK HOURS: Work shall be generally performed during normal business working hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except when otherwise indicated.

BEAR/ ANIMAL SAFETY: Bears and other animals are active in Yosemite and surrounding areas. It is necessary for all visitors to practice bear and animal safety. Food items are not to be left in work trucks or anywhere else. The NPS provides bear boxes in campgrounds for food storage. Bear incidents are a ticketable offense in Yosemite.
