C.1 PROJECT LOCATION AND SCOPE
Project Location: Longmire is located in the southwest corner of the Mount Rainier National Park. Access to Longmire is from SR 706. The site is located six miles inside the Nisqually Entrance Gate.
The work will take place in four locations within the Longmire developed area. The locations are identified on the attached map, one is the main access road, the other three are in the residential area road. The estimated square footage and asphalt quantities are listed below.
Location 1: This cut is located in the main entry road to Longmire. Due to its irregular shape, see the drawing for dimensions. A NPS crew will prep the road cut by providing straight edge cuts and removing three inches of back fill. The asphalt will be installed and rolled by the contractor to fill the cut and create a new surface even to the asphalt which it adjoins. The asphalt quantity is estimated at 62.4 tons.
Location 2: The contractor shall install an asphalt patch in the road cut in the residential area which Park utility crews have created for powerline replacement. This cut is located in the entry road to houses L108 and L109, it has dimensions are approximately 22’ long x 8’ wide. A NPS crew will prep the road cut by providing straight edge cuts and removing three inches of back fill. The asphalt will be installed and rolled by the contractor to fill the cut and create a new surface even to the asphalt which it adjoins. The asphalt quantity is estimated at 3.2 tons.
Location 3: This cut is located in the entry road to the cul-de-sac for houses L111 and L112, it has dimensions are approximately 8’ long x 8’ wide. A NPS crew will prep the road cut by providing straight edge cuts and removing three inches of back fill. The asphalt will be installed and rolled by the contractor to fill the cut and create a new surface even to the asphalt which it adjoins. The asphalt quantity is estimated at 1.5 tons.
Location 4: This cut is located in the residential loop road between houses L110 and L111, it has dimensions are approximately 8’ long x 6’ wide. A NPS crew will prep the road cut by providing straight edge cuts and removing three inches of back fill. The asphalt will be installed and rolled by the contractor to fill the cut and create a new surface even to the asphalt which it adjoins. The asphalt quantity is estimated at 1.2 tons.
