About this file

This document is a Scope of Work (SOW) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Manufacturing Department's procurement of a Shimadzu GC-2030 gas chromatography system. The SOW details specific requirements for a GC-2030 with dual channel FID-2030 and pTCD-2030 detectors, including capabilities such as supporting multiple carrier gas types, potential future mass spectrometer integration, and comprehensive gas chromatography columns. The procurement includes three specific GC columns (SH-I-5Sil MS, SH-I-624Sil MS, SH-PolarWax) and LabSolutions LCGC WS Software with a license.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Special Notice (Solicitation N00174-25-SIMACQ-M4-0034) for a sole-source procurement from Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. The Navy intends to award a firm fixed-price contract using non-competitive procedures under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may submit capability statements by June 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, with responses to be emailed to Natella Calliste. The contract's NAICS code is 334516, and vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered.

Scope of Work (GC-2030 with dual channel FID-2030 and pTCD-2030 with LabSolutions Software, Gas Regulators, Gas Filters, and additional GC columns)

1.0 General

Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head (NSWC IH) Manufacturing Department (Code M42) is seeking to procure a Shimadzu GC-2030 with dual channel FID-2030 and pTCD-2030 with LabSolutions Software, Gas Regulators, Gas Filters, and additional GC columns.

2.0 Requirement

This project/contract includes the following components:

1. Procurement of Shimadzu GC-2030 with dual channel FID-2030 and pTCD-2030.

Minimum requirements: The GC-2030 system must support having a and flame ionization detectors with a minimum detection quantity of 1.2 pg C/s (dodecane) for capillary columns and 2.5 pg C/s (dodecane) for packed columns. The GC needs to have a gas saver function as well as allow for easy change from one carrier gas type to another, including helium, nitrogen, hydrogen, and argon, in order to allow for cost savings associated with decreased gas consumption. The GC must have the option of adding a mass spectrometer detector at a later point in time. The GC must include all the ancillary materials and spare parts (ie, unions, ferrules, nuts) for operation with capillary GC columns.

2. Procurement of GC columns for the Shimadzu GC-2030.

Minimum requirements:

a. Column, GC, SH-I-5Sil MS, 30m x 0.25mm x 0.25um w/5m Integrated Guard

b. Column, GC, SH-I-624Sil MS, 30m x 0.32mm x 1.80um

c. Column, GC, SH-PolarWax, 30m x 0.32mm x 1.00um

d. Column, GC, SH-I Guard, 5m x 0.53mm

3. Procurement of LabSolutions LCGC WS Software & license
