About this file

This Scope of Work document outlines a lighting replacement project for the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) State Transport Police at the I-95 North/St. George Weigh Station near mile marker 74. The project requires contractors to erect two downed light poles and reconnect them to the power supply, replace all 29 exterior light fixtures across 25 light poles with ATB2 60 roadway LED light fixtures including proper bracketing, and test all lights for functionality. Any non-functioning fixtures must be diagnosed for power supply issues at the pole level, with non-operational units flagged and reported to the STP Facilities Management technician. All old fixtures must be removed and properly disposed of upon completion. Site visits can be scheduled by contacting Christopher Jones at ChristopherJones@scdps.gov or (803) 622-0164, and all work must be scheduled after contract award and purchase order issuance in coordination with the STP Facilities Management Technician.

The lighting system operates on a 208V power supply, with steel construction poles distributed throughout the weigh station property, including areas alongside I-95. Contractors must maintain appropriate safety equipment and awareness protocols for work adjacent to the interstate and carry comprehensive insurance coverage protecting themselves, their employees, SCDPS, and the general public, as SCDPS assumes no liability for contractor personnel. All contractors must possess appropriate licensing credentials, which must be provided with solicitation documents. Two poles have been damaged from collisions near the I-95 roadside and require restoration as part of this project.
