About this file

This Scope of Work document outlines HVAC duct cleaning and related services for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at the Tawes Building located at 580 Taylor Avenue in Annapolis, Maryland. The project encompasses comprehensive cleaning and restoration of HVAC ductwork, air handling components, and ventilation systems throughout the facility. Services include removal and cleaning of registers, vents, grilles, and diffusers; drop ceiling access and tile removal; selective insulation removal; installation of access ports; use of agitation devices such as industrial brushes and compressed air; HEPA vacuum collection with multi-stage filtration systems capable of 2,500-5,000 CFM at 4-5" static pressure; optional microbial treatment using EPA-registered products; protective coatings where required; cleaning of Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, reheat coils, and air handling units (AHUs); and post-cleaning inspections and access port sealing. All work must comply with industry standards established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SMACNA), and Underwriters Laboratories (UL). The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and tools necessary to complete the work, with coordination required with the Superintendent or designee. Areas requiring occupant evacuation may necessitate weekend or after-hours work scheduling.

The project includes comprehensive post-cleaning inspection and certification procedures, with contractors required to conduct final walk-throughs with the Building Manager and obtain sign-off on a Certificate of Completion. Access port closure requirements mandate airtight removable plates or doors mechanically fastened every 4 inches on center and sealed with UL-181A tape, gasket, or mastic. While completion of OSHA Outreach Training (10-hour and/or 30-hour) is desirable, it is not mandatory. No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent contractors, funding sources, or contract award dates are specified in this scope of work document. The related contract opportunity indicates the project has been cancelled.
