PROJECT TITLE: Aqueduct # 9 Cleanout
NARRATIVE OF WORK:
Aqueduct # 9 carries the Hennepin Canal over the Green River. It is the largest water crossing of the eight remaining aqueducts. Flooding and regular water flow carries debris that creates blockages in the aqueduct, preventing the flow of the Green River.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The purpose of this project is to remove numerous trees and brush and any other debris that has created a blockage in all three bays of aqueduct 9 to restore the entire flow of the Green River at all times. The work will require removing debris ranging from 3-inch diameter sticks to 24-inch diameter logs or greater from each of the three bays. The debris should be removed to a location that does not allow it to end up directly back in the aqueduct again during the next flood. This job may require a machine to get in the river at the proper water level.
