About this file

This Scope of Work document defines requirements for repairing and replacing air conditioning chiller compressors at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, Michigan. The project involves replacing compressors for a Carrier Model 30RAN022 chiller unit, specifically compressor A1 (Model SM115S3CA) and compressor A2 (Model SM160T3CB), both operating on R22 refrigerant at 200-230v 3ph 60Hz. The contractor must identify compatible replacement refrigerants (R-407C, R-421A, R-438A, R-448A, or R-449), ensure proper refrigerant recovery and disposal per EPA regulations, and handle all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing connections along with system commissioning and testing.

The work must be performed at 1175 Airport Access Road, Traverse City, MI 49686, with a period of performance extending through December 31, 2025, though actual performance duration cannot exceed 60 calendar days from award. The contractor must submit detailed project schedules, equipment specifications, shop drawings, and safety plans within 14 days of award. An optional bid item includes replacing tandem scroll compressors (Copeland model ZZ32M3-TWC-271) within a McQuay Model AGZ050BS12-ER10 unit plus condenser coil replacement. Key contacts include DC2 Mils Lamb (project POC), DCC Taylor Philpott (Facilities Chief), and LT Steven Durfee (COR). The procurement is estimated under $25,000 with NAICS code 238220 for HVAC contractors, and vendors must provide liability insurance documentation and maintain a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.
