ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

SCOPE OF WORK & PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Date: October , 2018 File # 4-17-018

LOCATION: Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area

PROJECT TITLE: Roof Covering Replacements on Six Various Structures

PROJECT NARRATIVE:

Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area is located north of Carlyle, Illinois, and is one of the best fishing, boating, camping and recreational sites in Southern Illinois. For the camping public, the site offers three shower houses and numerous shelters to make their visit more enjoyable. The roofs on six various structures have out lasted their useful life and are overdue for replacement. Due to the age of the present roof coverings, it is more economically feasible and in the best interest of the State to replace the damaged coverings rather than incur significant repair costs at a future date with a total replacement of the structures.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, hereinafter referred to as IDNR, is seeking bids to make any needed roof repairs and shingle replacement on these six structures. The proposed improvements intend to repair any wooden decking and replace existing shingle roofing systems on these six structures at Eldon Hazlet State Recreational Area. Development items may include but not limited to: inspection of the roofing systems existing decking and rafters for water damage and rot. This inspection will identify damaged or deteriorated roof decking, rafters, fascia, eave trim, drip edge and metal flashing and rubber boots. The existing shingles will be removed and replaced with new roofing material and along with associated construction items.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, hereinafter referred to as IDNR, is seeking bids to make needed roof repairs and replacements on these six structures.
