About this file
This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) from Department 171 for two pieces of heavy equipment: an 18-inch Drum Type Brush Chipper (Specification #C17-0501.18) and a 21-inch Diameter Towable Stump Grinder (Specification #C17-0001.18). The RFP solicits new, current production model equipment with detailed technical specifications for each machine, referencing Morbark Beever M18R-TD for the brush chipper and Bandit model 2100 for the stump grinder. The specifications outline comprehensive requirements for engine performance, trailer construction, hydraulic systems, cutting mechanisms, safety features, electrical systems, and operational capabilities.
The procurement appears to be for municipal or state-level public works departments, with specific technical requirements that suggest professional-grade equipment for landscape maintenance, forestry, and grounds management. While precise pricing is not included, the detailed specifications indicate a focus on high-performance, durable equipment meeting multiple safety and operational standards including FMVSS, OSHA, MIOSHA, and ANSI. The RFP includes additional requirements such as operator training (4 hours), multiple documentation sets (operating, parts, and service manuals), and a safety training video. The equipment must meet Tier IV emission standards and includes specific requirements for paint, electrical systems, and trailer configurations.
