Questions and Answers

Number 02

Q – Will there be another Amendment to this solicitation?

A – Please check FedBizOps every day to make sure you do not miss anything.

Q - C-band links can provide an availability of 99.7%. Please, note an availability of 99.97% may not be possible without a redundancy in all hardware parts, or without a back-up link. In the last Q&A, you said that backup hardware was not necessary. Is this true?

A – We do not require a backup dish, however, this does not preclude the vendor from having spares on-site or close to on-site in order to replace failed components in a timely manner. Please see Amendment 02.

Q – Can our proposal offer multiple technical solutions?

A - Yes.

Q - Does the service provider need to supply the rack for the VSAT equipment? Or does the customer already have rack space available?

A – Yes. Please provide a rack for your equipment. See the requirement under Network Devices in the

Continuation to SF-1449 in the Solicitation.

Q - Does the service provider need to supply UPS?

A – Yes. Please provide a UPS for your equipment. This requirement is stated in Network Devices in the

Continuation to SF-1449 in the Solicitation. Please also note standard 12v 7amp batteries are the only replacement batteries which are readily available in the DRC.

Q - Is the service provider responsible for shipping the equipment to the final location?

A – Yes

Q - Will the US embassy provide transport, accommodation, and food for the installers outside

Kinshasa?

SCG50016Q0005 for Internet Services - Questions and Answers 02 2

A – No.

Q - The equipment (BUC) required for the 2/2Mbps link is very different than the equipment (BUC) required for a 6/6 Mbps. This will have a big impact in the pricing.

A – The equipment you provide shall be sufficient to satisfy the solicitation requirements.
