A multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) connection may be required for Ku-band Spread Spectrum (KuSS) data forwarding from the KuSS service hub terminal or network operations center to Government points of presence (PoP) during the life of the anticipated contract(s).

Only one terminal will operate per SIMOP at a time, therefore, no more terminals than the number of SIMOPs purchased will be in operation at any time during the entire period of performance. The government may request SIMOPs at four service levels. The service levels for VGN are Basic, Plus, Premium, and Enhanced Premium. Basic service level has data rates of up to 1 Mbps for the FL and 512 kbps for the RL. Plus service level has data rates of up to 2 Mbps for the FL and 512Kbps for the RL. Premium service level has data rates of up to 4 Mbps for the FL and 1Mbps for the RL. Enhanced Premium service level has data rates of up to 10 Mbps for the FL and 1 Mbps for the RL.

b) For Contract 2 (SBS0025):

i. Anticipated service level: two Plus level subscriptions of VGN with options to add eight additional Basic level subscriptions for a total of 10

ii. Anticipated period of performance: 12-month base period plus four 12-month options

2. Terrestrial Backhaul (Optional for Government requirements): For the government generated internet traffic, MPLS connections may be required to be provided to establish dedicated terrestrial connectivity from the satellite service provider’s gateway to the Government-specified PoP. The contractor shall also dedicate a MPLS router for all government traffic.
