QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1: Can you please clarify what the requirement "Optional Stand-By Policy" means?
The Optional Stand-By Policy is intended to give an employee or family member who has reached the maximum reimbursement limit ($12,500 for 1 year) continuous and uninterrupted coverage. This clause will be applied for a maximum of three percent of the insured group.
2: Should we be quoting an additional Stand-By policy or should we be offering such a policy on a voluntary basis?
There is no need to send additional quoting for this occurrence, because premiums paid by the government in each case and depending on the step, are already established in the clause.
3: If we are supposed to be offering an additional voluntary coverage for employees to elect, when do they have to elect the coverage?
There is no need for additional voluntary coverage as explained in question #2.
4: Is the proposal to be submitted for health and life insurance, as seems to be common with many companies?
The proposal to be submitted should be for health insurance only. A life insurance contract will be issued separately.
