Amendment 0002 to RFQ SB1341-17-RQ-0228. Amendment 0002 addresses questions received from industry in response to RFQ SB1341-17-RQ-0228.

Industry Question 1: Have the drift eliminators been changed? It is recommended changing the drift eliminators or they will tear-up the new fans.

NIST Response to Industry Question 1: No. The drift eliminators have not been changed. NIST will take this information into consideration. However, the replacement of the drift eliminators is not within the scope of this requirement.

Industry Question 2: The current road width will not allow the outrigging of the crane to sit on the asphalt. Is it okay if the outrigging of the crane sits on the grass?

NIST Response to Industry Question 2: Yes. There is no issue with the crane rigging extending into the grass area next to the access road.

Industry Question 3: Is it expected that there will be an issue with removing heat from the cooling tower?

NIST Response to Industry Question 3: No.

Industry Question 4: Are there any special requirements for disposal of the fans? Is the Contractor responsible for disposal?

NIST Response to Industry Question 4: The Contractor is responsible for disposal of the fans. It is not expected the fans will have any contamination.

Industry Question 5: Does NCNR have the ability to receive and store the new fan assemblies before installation?

NIST Response to Industry Question 5: NIST will be having multiple large projects going on at the NCNR facility. Due to the number of projects taking place, NCNR is unable to confirm it will have space to store the fan assemblies. Offerors shall make arrangements to have the fans shipped and stored at an alternative site.

Industry Question 6: Is a lift and rigging plan for the crane required?

NIST Response to Industry Question 6: Yes. This shall be addressed within the Offeror’s Safety Plan.

Industry Question 7: At the site visit we discussed adding mechanical service platforms. Did you decide if you want to add this to the original scope?

NIST Response to Industry Question 7: No. NIST will not be adding the platforms to the scope of this requirement.

Industry Question 8: Will the Government consider an extension to the response date?

NIST Response to Industry Question 8: Yes. NIST will extend the response for this RFQ to noon Eastern Standard Time on March 28, 2017.
