The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Information Access Division Biometrics Research Lab was created to support NIST biometrics research, standards and evaluations. NIST requires the use of large data sets for evaluations that can be shared between Linux and Microsoft Windows computer blades. The computer blade hardware needs to be powered by uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) battery backup units to protect the hardware from power surges, brownouts, and power loss.

II. SCOPE OF WORK

The Contractor shall:

• Replace the batteries Eaton 9390 UPS located on the NIST Gaithersburg, MD campus.

• Provide the following hardware for the provided serial numbers:

Serial Number Model Description Battery Type, Quantity

Coverage Type

ED504CBB06 9390-100-120 VRLA Sealed, 80 Battery Labor Adder

EE121CBB03 9390-100-120 VRLA Sealed, 80 Battery Labor Adder

ED503CAB13 9390-20-40 VRLA Sealed, 40 Battery Labor Adder

All hardware must function in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

• The Contractor shall install the batteries. Installation shall include, at a minimum, uncrating/unpacking of all equipment, set-up and hook-up of all equipment, start-up, demonstration of specifications, and removal of all trash.
