Attachment A Specifications Chiller to Produce -50 F Brine at 13 GPM and 8-10 Tons of Refrigeration Background The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) Equipment Performance Group of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) researches the heat transfer performance of new alternative refrigerants. The focus of the work is to develop design tools for end-users to ensure the design of energy efficiency air-conditioning and heating equipment for buildings. The chiller will be used to supply cooling to the heat transfer test rigs located at NIST Gaithersburg, MD.
