Amendment 001 ‐ Questions & Answers
SB1341‐15‐RQ‐0417
Hydraulic Power Distribution and Control System (HPDCS) and Servohydraulic Load Frame (SLF)
Q1: In the specification for the HPDCS it states that the control system must be similar to the NFRL control system so that parts can be interchangeable, is there any information available in the NFRL so that we can meet the specification requirements accurately.
A1: The National Fire Research Laboratory (NFRL) at NIST has an existing hydraulic power distribution and control system (HPDCS) that was purchased in 2010 from MTS Systems. The new HPDCS will not be part of the NFRL system. However, the specifications for the new HPDCS seek to ensure compatibility with the existing NFRL system to the extent possible, and system components that can be interchanged between the two systems are preferred. The following is a listing of key components of the HPDCS in the NFRL, for which compatibility and interchangeability of components is preferred:
MTS FlexTest 100 Control System
MTS SilentFlo Hydraulic Power Unit – 505.90
MTS 293 Hydraulic Service Manifolds
MTS Series 201 Hydraulic Actuators
MTS 252 Four‐Way Servovalves
MTS 661 Series Load Cells
