Amendment A001 to Request for Quotation (RFQ) SB1341-10-RQ-0492
A. The purpose of this amendment is as follows:
1. Answer questions submitted by potential offerors concerning the solicitation
2. Post pictures of the glove box system referenced in the solicitation.
3. Extend the response date for receipt of offers/quotations.
B. Answers to questions regarding the solicitation are as follows:
Q1. Please provide all information possible on the existing MBraun glovebox systems (i.e.
purifiers, controllers, etc.).
A1. The MBraun boxes are Labmaster 130 and were manufactured in 2005. The single module is 1250 mm wide by 780 mm deep. The double module is 1800 mm wide by 780 mm deep.
Each box has an independent purifier and PLC controller with touch screen interface. The purging of the large antechamber is controlled by the double box controller. The single module has a solvent recovery system.
Q2. Could you provide us with detailed pictures of the existing MBraun glovebox systems?
A2. Yes. See Paragraph C below.
Q3. Are the existing MBraun glove box systems in good working condition?
A3. The existing glove boxes are in good working condition. They were delivered in October of 2005 and are frequently used and carefully maintained.
Q4. Would you be willing to send the MBraun glove box systems to us to perform the integration work?
A4. No, but access to the system through a site visit can be arranged after contract award.
Q5. Please clarify the use of the five (5) computers and their locations. It appears that some of the optional equipment, such as the spectroscopic ellipsometer, includes a computer. Is this part of the five or in addition to?
A5. There are six (6) required computers (see below) and one (1) computer included in the option line item for the microscope (Line item 0004). The spectroscopic ellipsometer (Line item 0002) is not an optional item.
- 1 integrator-supplied computer on DEPOSITION box
- 1 integrator-supplied computer on PROCESSING box
- 2 integrator-supplied computers on E-TEST box (one on left, one on right)
- 1 integrator-supplied computer on existing Small box
- 1 computer supplied by authorized agent of ellipsometer manufacturer on the OPTICAL box
- 1 option line item computer supplied by authorized agent of microscope manufacturer on the OPTICAL box (Line Item 0004)
The 5 integrator-supplied computers will be used to control equipment, but integration does not have to go beyond simple provision unless otherwise specified. There are also eight (8) required monitor/keyboard mounts as described in the specifications and shown in the drawing attachment. All eight (8) are required even if the microscope option is not exercised.
Q6. Do you have a preferred/suggested manufacturer for the vacuum oven specified on pages 6- 7 of the specification?
A6. The Government has no preference for vacuum oven manufacturers, balance manufacturers, or spin coater manufacturers. Any item that meets the Government’s minimum specifications is acceptable.
C. Pictures of the existing glove box system (attached) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, are incorporated into the solicitation and made a part thereof.
D. The “Response date” is extended to Wednesday, 4 August 2010 at 12:00 PM, EST.
