About this file
This is a Specifications Document for the procurement of custom hermetically sealed fiber-optic assemblies for NASA mission-critical applications. The procurement requires 60 total units in two configurations: 20 units at 5 meters length and 40 units at 1 meter length (each with ±20 cm tolerance). The assemblies must feature FFH05026 fiber type with a hermetically sealed stainless-steel microtube jacket (internal structure FT052SSB-SABR), special order hermetic SMA connectors at both ends, and vacuum-compatible epoxies equivalent to catalog MFV1L1. Each assembly weighs 0.0004 kg and must be manufactured in the USA with a certificate of conformance provided at delivery.
Production and delivery occur over 22 weeks from receipt of order (ARO), with the first 5 units of either configuration requiring 10 weeks, followed by 5 units per week thereafter. All items are custom and non-cancelable once ordered. The completed assemblies must be delivered to NASA Langley Research Center, Mail Stop 061, Hampton, VA 23681-2199. The vendor must comply with US, UK, and EU export laws, with title transferring at shipment from the supplier's facility. Components must meet or exceed quoted specifications, and all assemblies must include a generic certificate of conformance with delivery.
