About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of three identically configured high-performance engineering workstations for NASA Glenn Research Center's Distributed Electric Propulsion Research and Development project, dated August 14, 2026.

The workstations are required to support computationally intensive topology-optimization (nTop) and computational fluid dynamics (ANSYS Fluent) analysis of additively manufactured lattice heat exchangers. Each unit must meet or exceed specifications including: Intel Core Ultra 7 270K processor (24 cores, 3.7 GHz), 256 GB DDR5 memory, NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition with 96 GB graphics memory, 2 TB NVMe PCIe Gen5 primary storage, 4 TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 secondary storage, 1300 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply, 240 mm liquid CPU cooler, Intel Z890 chipset motherboard, and Fractal Design Define 7 chassis. All systems shall be new (not refurbished), professionally integrated, assembled, burn-in tested by the manufacturer, and validated for stable operation with nTop and ANSYS Fluent prior to shipment. Systems shall include no operating system but must be fully hardware-tested; they will receive a NASA standard image after delivery.

Delivery is required within 30 calendar days after receipt of order to NASA Glenn Research Center, Building 86, Room 200 ws-1, Cleveland, Ohio 44135. The procurement is schedule-critical with early delivery encouraged. Each workstation must include lifetime labor and technical support with U.S.-based single-point accountability and a minimum three-year parts warranty. Inspection and acceptance occurs at the delivery location with nonconforming items to be repaired or replaced at no cost to the Government. The reference configuration is identified as a Puget Workstation Core Ultra Z890 C121-L from Puget Sound Systems, Inc. (Cage Code 31YA3), Auburn, Washington. Government points of contact include End User Jonathan M. Goodman and Alternate POC Erik J. Stalcup.

Statement of Work Procurement of High-Performance Engineering Workstations

NASA Glenn Research Center - Distributed Electric Propulsion R&D Project

Date: August 14, 2026

1.0 Background

The NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) Distributed Electric Propulsion Research and Development project requires high-performance engineering workstations to support TTT heat exchanger optimization. This effort involves computationally intensive topology-optimization (nTop) and computational fluid dynamics (ANSYS Fluent) analysis of additively manufactured lattice heat exchangers. Existing NEST-provided standard systems do not provide the graphics, processing, or memory capability required to perform this work. This procurement provides three (3) purpose-built engineering workstations to enable that analysis.

2.0 Scope

The contractor shall furnish and deliver three (3) new, factory-built engineering workstations meeting or exceeding the specifications in Section 3.0, including all listed components, integration, testing, warranty, and support. All items shall be new (not used, refurbished, or remanufactured), and shall be delivered to the location identified in Section 4.0.

3.0 Requirements

3.1 Quantity

Three (3) identically configured workstations.

3.2 Technical Specifications (per unit, minimum)

Each workstation shall meet or exceed the following configuration:

Component Minimum Specification

Chassis Compact tower with high-efficiency airflow (Fractal Design Define 7 or equivalent)

Motherboard Intel Z890 chipset workstation board (ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi or equivalent)

Processor Intel Core Ultra 7 270K - 3.7 GHz, 24 cores, 36 MB cache, 125 W (high single-core performance required)

CPU Cooling 240 mm liquid CPU cooler (Asetek 624S- M2 or equivalent)

Memory 256 GB DDR5 (4 x 64 GB), non-ECC

Graphics NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition, 96 GB (or equivalent;

required for GPU-intensive nTop workloads)

Primary Storage 2 TB NVMe PCIe Gen5 M.2 SSD

Secondary Storage 4 TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD

Power Supply 1300 W, 80 PLUS Gold (Super Flower LEADEX VII or equivalent)

Networking Integrated Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth

Audio Onboard sound

Cooling Upgrade Case fans upgrade kit with PWM ramping

Operating System None; hardware fully tested. Systems to receive NASA standard image after delivery.

Warranty / Support Lifetime labor and technical support;

minimum 3-year parts warranty

3.3 Integration and Testing

All components shall be professionally integrated, assembled, and burn-in/stress tested by the manufacturer prior to shipment to verify hardware stability under load. Systems shall be validated for stable operation with the professional engineering applications used on this project (nTop and ANSYS Fluent).

3.4 Warranty and Support

Each system shall include lifetime labor and technical support and a minimum three (3) year parts warranty. Technical support shall be U.S.-based with single-point accountability for the fully integrated system.

3.5 Reference Configuration

The requirements above are based on the following exact technical configuration. Each of the three (3) units is a Puget Workstation Core Ultra Z890 C121-L configured as follows:

• Fractal Design Define 7 (chassis)

• ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi (motherboard)

• Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus 3.7GHz 24 Core 36MB 125W (processor)

• Asetek 624S-M2 240mm CPU Cooler

• 4x DDR5 64GB (256GB total per system)

• NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition 96GB PCI-E

• Onboard Sound

• Integrated Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth

• 2TB NVMe PCIe Gen5 M.2 SSD (primary drive)

• 4TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD (secondary drive)

4.0 Delivery

4.1 Delivery Location

• NASA Glenn Research Center

• Building 86, Room 200 ws-1

• 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44135

4.2 Delivery Schedule

The contractor shall deliver all three (3) workstations within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of order (ARO). This procurement is schedule-critical; early delivery is encouraged.

5.0 Inspection and Acceptance

Inspection and acceptance shall be performed at the delivery location by the end user or designated Government representative. Acceptance is contingent upon (a) delivery of the correct quantity and configuration meeting the specifications in Section 3.0, (b) systems free of physical damage, and (c) verification that each system powers on and passes a basic functional check. Nonconforming items shall be repaired or replaced at no cost to the Government.
