The Government will evaluate these responses solely to determine whether to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis; however, the final determination to proceed with competitive or sole source procurement remains at the Government's sole discretion. Oral communications and quotes are not acceptable in response to this notice and will not be evaluated. NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84 regarding the Ombudsman is applicable to this acquisition.

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID IF SUBMITTING A CAPBILITY STATEMENT
IN THE SUBJUECT LINE.
Synopsis:
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Service Contract for Hitachi S-4700 Scanning Electron Microscope.
NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to HITACHI HIGH-TECH AMERICA, INC. 1375 N 28TH AVE Dallas, Texas 75261-5012 United States under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that HITACHI HIGH-TECH AMERICA, INC. is the sole provider of Service Contract for Hitachi S- 4700 Scanning Electron Microscope.
NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Glenn Research Center (GRC).
The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial
The NAICS Code for this procurement is 811210
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/28/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
NOTE: Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team.
