About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Aheadd CP-1 NXG Specimen Build contract awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), specifically through Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

NASA requires the contractor to manufacture Aheadd CP-1 material testing and characterization specimens using a Nikon SLM Solutions NXG additive manufacturing machine. The primary objective is to evaluate the viability of this platform for cryogenic fluid management (CFM) components and to better characterize material produced on large-scale laser powder bed fusion machines. The contractor must possess prior experience manufacturing Aheadd CP-1 with laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing. Key deliverables include thirty (30) plates of Aheadd CP-1 built on a Nikon SLM Solutions NXG XII 600 with dimensions of 12"x5"x0.25" (LxWxH) after build plate removal, printed specimens according to an agreed-upon specimen matrix, de-powdered specimens removed from the build plate, and comprehensive build documentation including powder certificates of conformance and laser assignment parameters. The contractor is responsible for shipping all deliverables to Marshall Space Flight Center, Central Receiving, Building 4631, Huntsville, Alabama 35812. The performance period is six (6) weeks from contract award, with all tasks to be completed within this timeframe.
