Statement of Work Summary
This Statement of Work outlines a contract for advanced quantitative MRI ocular analysis services to support the Human Research Program's study, "Investigating Structure and Function of the Eye." The contractor, to be based at Flux Neuroscience in Moscow, Idaho, shall analyze 27 Brain MRI datasets to assess changes in eye structures resulting from spaceflight exposure. The contractor must possess demonstrated experience in advanced quantitative MRI ocular assessments and shall complete 3D MR image analysis and post-processing for the optic nerve sheath and nerve, specifically measuring posterior globe volume displacement (flattening), optic nerve sheath cross-sectional area, optic nerve cross-sectional area, and optic nerve deviation (tortuosity). Additional responsibilities include managing MRI data transfer, providing results to Principal Investigator Brandon Macias, Ph.D., and assisting in preparation of project reports and manuscripts.
The contract period spans a base year from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028, with three optional one-year extensions extending through June 30, 2031. Deliverables are phased as follows: completion of 10 MRI dataset analyses by the end of Year 1, 10 datasets by the end of Year 2, and 7 datasets by the end of Year 3, with all work required to be completed in a timely manner to support SANS deliverables. The contractor must manage the complete workflow from data receipt through analysis and reporting to ensure alignment with project timelines and scientific objectives.

Statement of Work
1. Objective/Requirements
The Human Research Program funded the study, “Investigating Structure and Function of the Eye.”
This study is collecting ocular data via Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs). MRI data was collected to assess changes in the structure of the eye structures, for example globe shape, optic nerve size and optic nerve sheath displacement due to spaceflight.
Vendor shall analyze 27 Brain MRI datasets. Vendor must have experience in advanced quantitative MRI ocular assessments.
2. Characteristics, Scope, Specs
The contractor shall perform the following duties:
(A) Manage MRI data transfer for analysis at their institution
(B) Complete 3D MR image analysis and post processing of all data collected for the optic nerve sheath (ONS) and nerve (ON)
(1) posterior globe volume displacement (flattening)
(2) ONS cross-sectional area
(3) ON cross-sectional area
(4) ON deviation (tortuosity)
(C) Provide results to study Principal Investigator, Brandon Macias, Ph.D.
(D) Assist in preparation of project reports and manuscripts.
(E) Complete analysis in a timely manner to support SANS deliverables (See deliverables section)
