About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the procurement of equipment for the 2025 8-Station SHADOZ Ozonesonde Network Order. The requirement involves supplying scientific measurement equipment for nine long-term ozonesonde stations, including 5 CFH hygrometers, 12 large CFH parachutes and reels, 12 and 130 ECC ozonesondes (2Z V7), 70 Z ECC ozonesondes, and 200 ozonesonde reels and small parachutes. The equipment will support multi-decadal balloon-borne ozone profile records for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trend analysis, and climate studies.

The work will be performed at stations located in San Jose (Costa Rica), Quito (Ecuador), San Cristobal (Galapagos), Hilo (HI), Samoa, Fiji, Reunion Island, and Hanoi (Vietnam). NOAA colleagues in Boulder, CO will pick up and distribute the items. The performance period spans approximately one year, from December 2025 to November 2026, with station operators responsible for preparing, launching, and collecting data from the ozone and weather instruments, which will be sent to NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, MD.

STATEMENT OF WORK

2025 8-Station SHADOZ Ozonesonde Network Order

Background Eight long-term SHADOZ ozonesonde measurement stations need to continue their multi-decadal balloon borne ozone profile record for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trends, and climate studies. This requirement is for:

o 5 ea CFH hygrometers o 12 ea large CFH parachutes o 12 ea large CFH reels o 12 ea 2Z V7 ECC ozonesondes strung for the CFH o 130 ea 2Z V7 ECC ozonesondes o 70 ea Z ECC ozonesondes o 200 ea ozonesonde reels o 200 ea small parachutes

This ozone and weather-measuring equipment is required to ensure consistency with the existing SHADOZ records, and compatibility with the ground data collection systems currently in place at the nine SHADOZ stations.

Scope The operators at the SHADOZ stations shall prepare, launch, and collect the data from the ozone and weather instruments, and send the data to NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, MD.

Place of Performance This work will be performed at the San Jose, Costa Rica, Quito, Ecuador, San Cristobal, Galapagos, Hilo, HI, Samoa, Fiji, Reunion Island, and Hanoi, Vietnam, SHADOZ ozonesonde stations.

These items will be picked up by NOAA colleagues in Boulder, CO, and distributed to the above named SHADOZ stations

Period of Performance This order represents an approximately one-year supply of ozone and weather-measuring equipment to be launched from ~December 2025 to November 2026.
