About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details maintenance services for a JEOL JSM-IT710HR/LV Scanning Electron Microscope (Serial Number MP1366000050005) at NASA Glenn Research Center. The contract requires the contractor to provide two planned preventive maintenance inspections during the contract term, which include comprehensive system checkout, lubrication, electrical/mechanical/vacuum maintenance, column alignment, and repair parts replacement.
The maintenance service includes unlimited emergency visits and technical phone support during regular business hours, with a commitment to respond within two working days for equipment breakdowns. The contractor will perform all services using factory-trained service engineers, covering labor, travel, and living expenses, with replacement of worn or defective components. Certain parts are excluded from coverage, such as filaments, x-ray crystals, detectors, consumables, and components damaged through abuse or unauthorized modifications. The contract allows the government to perform basic maintenance like cleaning/replacing apertures and o-rings, with final repair responsibility remaining with the contractor.
