About this file

This document is a NASA Procurement Scope of Work for HR-2-AM Alloy Powder Specification (Formulation II Mod 2). The specification details precise requirements for an advanced metal powder, including a detailed elemental composition with strict minimum and maximum percentages for elements like nickel (balance), iron (29.30-30.70%), chromium (14.90-16.10%), and others. The powder must have specific particle size distribution, targeting +325 mesh/1250 mesh (45 um/+10 um) with limitations on particle sizes outside these ranges, as defined by ASTM B214 and B822 standards.

The scope of work further specifies that the HR-2-AM powder must be primarily spherical, free of significant satellite particles, and have smooth surfaces. The vendor is required to deliver 500 lbs. of NASA HR-2-AM powder within 12 weeks of procurement award. This appears to be a sole-source requirement for a specialized additive manufacturing powder with exacting metallurgical specifications, intended for use by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
