About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a Blue M Inert Gas Oven for the NASA Glenn Research Center. The oven will be used in the production of custom cores for aerospace power systems, expanding the range of alloys that can be processed without oxidation during high-temperature annealing. The required oven specifications include a 5.8 cubic foot capacity, interior dimensions of 25x20x20 inches, heating up to 593°C, and the capability to maintain an inert gas environment.

The corresponding federal contract opportunity is a brand name solicitation for the Blue M Inert Gas Oven, with FOB Destination delivery to the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. The solicitation requires quotes from authorized resellers only, with terms of Net 30 payment and a request for the vendor's Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number and delivery lead time. Discounts should be applied to the quoted price, and payment will not be made by credit card.

SOW/Requirements for Blue M Inert Gas Oven for Magnetics Processing

Background: GRC has made a significant investment in the development, production, and characterization of amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys. Much of the equipment in the laboratory is one-of-kind or very specialized. This procurement is for an inert gas oven that will be used in production of custom cores for aerospace power systems. This furnace will expand the range of alloys able to processed, to include those that are sensitive to oxidation during high temperature annealing. This furnace is specialized in that it can accommodate a magnetic annealing fixture that will be supported by a strengthened floor and connected through gas tight feedthroughs.
