About this file
This document is a Statement of Work and Specifications for an optical microscope with elemental analysis capabilities required by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The system must provide high-quality 3D imaging, quantify particles and features by contrast and color, have a fully motorized xyz stage for automated image stitching, and provide 3D surface area measurements. The system must also have an elemental analysis capability with 1-3% accuracy for light element measurement. The period of performance is no later than 3 days after award, and the place of performance is the NASA Glenn Research Center.
The related federal contract opportunity is a sole source procurement for a Keyence VHX-X1 3D microscope with elemental analysis. NASA intends to award a contract to Keyence Corporation of America under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as Keyence is determined to be the sole provider of the required system. The procurement will utilize FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 for commercial items and services. Interested parties may submit capability statements by 8:00 AM CST on 8/23/2024, which the government will evaluate to determine if competition is warranted.
