Statement of Work for Ultrasonic Cleaning System
1) Objective:
NASA Stennis Space Center (SSC) precision cleans a variety of tubing pieces, piping pieces, and fluid components for our propellant systems on our rocket engine test stands.
The vendor shall provide a system, which includes the following:
1) Tank 3: for Caustic Cleaner Cee‐Bee J‐84AL
• Heated Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank with 30kHz zero‐spaced magnetostrictive transducers
2) Tank 4: for Deoxidizer Cee‐Bee C‐623
• Ambient Temperature C‐623 Tank
3) Tank 5: Heated Agitated Deionized (DI) Water Rinse Tank
4) NEMA Type 12 Control/Generator Enclosure
• Free standing enclosure with closed‐loop air conditioner to house generator assemblies, electrical control components and operator controls for all system functions. Includes controls for items 1 through 3 as well as space for controls for potential future addition of:
• ‐ (1) Mild Alkaline Ultrasonic Clean Tank with Overflow (Cee Bee Super Bee 300LF)
• ‐ (1) Agitated Rinse Tank (DI Water)
• ‐ (1) Acid Rinse Tank (Nitric Acid 30%)
• ‐ (1) Agitated Rinse Tank (DI Water)
• ‐ (1): Corrosion Inhibitor Rinse Tank (Cee‐Bee MX‐15U)
• ‐ (1) Utility Dryer
2) Details:
Tank 3: Heated Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank with Overflow for Caustic Cleaner Cee‐Bee J‐84AL
‐ Tanks holding the fluid shall be 10 gauge 316L stainless steel construction
‐ Insulated for heat retention and protection of operator, with removeable stainless steel skin
‐ Cleaning Chamber Working Dimensions
• Left to Right: 50” minimum
• Front to Back: 36” minimum
• Depth: 28” minimum
‐ Overall Dimensions: 74" L‐R x 60" F‐B x 44" High (80" high with exhaust)
‐ The 16" at the rear of the chamber will be utilized for the top mounted installation of heaters, filter pump, level switches and fill port. This allows for easy maintenance of these items from the rear of the system without the need to drain cleaning solution. This also keeps the minimum number of connections below solution level to minimize risk of solution leaks and drips.
‐ Work rest to support parts load and protects ultrasonic diaphragm
‐ 10,000 watts bottom mounted ultrasonic 30kHz sweep‐frequency zero‐spaced magnetostrictive transducers with 3/16” thick 316L Stainless Steel diaphragm
‐ Heaters
• Two 9KW SST over the side Immersion Heaters w/ Digital Temperature Controller
• Controllable from ambient to 200 degF
‐ Filtration system with over the side pump
‐ Surface skimming
‐ Digital timer with On/Off/Auto function
‐ Low level sensors
‐ Vapor exhaust duct connections located to the rear of the cleaning tank
‐ Stainless steel, 2‐piece hinged, bi‐folding lid
‐ Level switches, installed in the overflow chamber, along with a fresh water inlet solenoid valve
‐ Stainless steel drain valve
‐ Overflow chamber
• 16" L‐R x 52" F‐B x 30" Depth
• Stainless steel belt skimmer with 4" wide belt, 12GPH oil removal capacity
• Mag drive pump with stainless steel pump head for circulation of solution from the overflow chamber to the sparge bar
• Stainless steel, 2‐piece hinged, bi‐folding lid
• Stainless steel drain valve
‐ Exhaust: CPVC ventilation duct located to the rear of the cleaning chamber
• Includes (3) 2" horizontal slots, (1) near solution surface and (2) evenly spaced across the vertical height (36") for pulling fumes from solution surface as well as parts as they are removed from the cleaning chamber
Tank 4: Ambient Temperature Tank for Deoxidizer Cee‐Bee C‐623
‐ Tanks holding the fluid shall be 10 gauge 316L stainless steel construction
