About this file

This document is a Quick Reference Guide for the Acquisition Method Suffix Code (AMSC) and Repair Method Suffix Code (RMSC) used by the U.S. Air Force Strategic Sourcing program under the 448 Supply Chain Management Wing (SCMW). The guide provides a comprehensive lookup table of 26 suffix codes (A through Z) that categorize items based on data availability and usage rights, determining whether items require no engineering pre-qualification approval, Air Force engineering pre-qualification approval, or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) qualification approval. Key codes include: Code G (Full and Open Competition) for items requiring no pre-qualification; Codes C, K, and M requiring Air Force Source Approval Request (SAR) process; and all other codes typically requiring OEM qualification. The SCMW manages over 100,000 National Stock Numbers across four supply chain management groups located at Robins AFB, Hill AFB, and Tinker AFB, sustainment for communications, electronics, aircraft systems, propulsion, and related equipment.

The document provides a detailed eight-step Source Approval Request process for companies seeking to qualify as Air Force sources. The process requires companies to research available data on SAM.gov, determine the managing organization using WebFLIS, request Qualification Requirements and Engineering Data Lists from the appropriate Small Business Office, conduct market research, build a SAR package per AFMCI 23-113, and submit to the managing organization. Contact information is provided for each base's Small Business Office, including Hill AFB, Robins AFB, and Tinker AFB, as well as the Defense Logistics Agency for DLA-managed items. Technical data requests should be directed to AFLCMC.LZP.TINKERPUBLICSALES@us.af.mil or AFLCMC.LZP.PUBLICSALES@us.af.mil, with additional support available through the SASPO workflow email and website.

The 448 Supply Chain Management Wing (SCMW) manages more than 100,000 NaƟonal Stock Num-bers (NSNs) and is conƟnuously seeking addiƟonal sources of manufacture and repair to increase their compeƟƟve acquisiƟon posiƟon.

Knowing the Air Force’s data rights posiƟon helps companies understand the route to achieve qualifi-caƟon. Each item is “screened” to determine data availability and what usage rights the Air Force has to the data. Technical Data Package (TDP) availabil-ity and usage rights are captured using the Acquisi- Ɵon Method Suffix Code (AMSC) for manufacturing and Repair Method Suffix Code (RMSC) for repair.

These codes determine whether the item; 1.) Does not require engineering pre-qualificaƟon approval, 2.) Requires Air Force engineering pre-qualificaƟon approval or, 3.) Requires OEM qualificaƟon approval.

Full and Open Compe on AMSC/RMSC—G—Items with this code do not re-quire engineering pre-qualificaƟon approval. Com-panies interested in these items should watch for opportuniƟes on the (beta.SAM.gov) website.

Qualify with the Air Force AMSC/RMSC—C, K or M—Items require Air Force engineering pre-qualificaƟon approval through the Source Approval Request (SAR) process.

Qualify with the OEM AMSC/RMSC—Other—Items codes other than C, G, K or M most likely require qualificaƟon from the OEM. These codes denote some data/rights limita- Ɵons that prevent the Air Force pre-qualifying new sources.

Source Approval Request (SAR) Process Overview:

Companies interested in doing business directly with the Air Force should review AFMCI23-113 (hƩp://staƟc.e-publishing.af.mil/producƟon/1/afmc /publicaƟon/afmci23-113/afmci23-113.pdf) as it out-lines the process for building a SAR Package.

Once a company determines the item(s) they would like to pursue, the following steps will assist in the process:

1. Research (SAM.gov) for any available data; Qualifi-caƟon Requirements (QR), Drawings, Engineering Data List (EDL), Repair Data List (RDL), etc. for the NSN you wish to submit a SAR. If the data is in SAM then you may be able to download it for free of charge.

2. Determine the managing organizaƟon. WebFLIS (dla.mil/InformaƟon- OperaƟons/Services/ApplicaƟons/WebFLIS/) is a web-site that may be used to cross-reference either the NSN or Part Number (PN) to the managing organiza- Ɵon. FGZ = Robins AFB, FHZ = Tinker AFB, FLZ = Hill AFB and SMS = Defense LogisƟcs Agency- DLA

3. Request the QualificaƟon Requirements (QR) and Engineering Data List (EDL) or Repair Data List (RDL), as applicable, from the managing organizaƟon’s Small Business Offices:

Hill AFB: afsc.ol.sb@us.af.mil Robins AF POC: wralc.bc.frontoffice@us.af.mil and website: hƩps://www.robins.af.mil/About- Us/Small-Business-Office/

Tinker AFB:

- For ERRC N or P new buy or any repair managed by Tinker AFB, contact the AFSC Small Business Office, afsc.af.mil/Units/SBO/

- For ERRC T new buy items, you may send a request to SASPO, 429SCMS.SASPO.Workflow@us.af.mil

4. For informaƟon on procuring draw-ings/manufacturing or repair data contact:

Technical Order Requests:

AFLCMC.LZP.PUBSALES@us.af.mil Data Requests:

AFLCMC.LZP.TINKERPUBLICSALES@us.af.mil

NOTE: If ac ve solicita on u lize the link provided in the solicita on.

5. DO YOUR MARKET RESEARCH. Determine if you have the ability to manufacture/repair the item and if it fits your business case.

6. Build a SAR package in accordance with the Quali-ficaƟon Requirement and AFMCI 23-113.

7. Submit your SAR package for evaluaƟon to the item’s managing organizaƟon.

8. If you intend to submit more than one NSN in a package, please coordinate with the respecƟve offic-es as idenƟfied in #3 above for requesƟng QRs/EDLs/RDLs before submiƩal.

9. For items managed by DLA POC: dlaavnsmall-bus@dla.mil

More informaƟon pertaining to the qualificaƟon/ SAR process may be obtained at any of the Small

Business Office websites listed in #3 above or from the SASPO website at: hƩps://www.Ɵnker.af.mil/
