5. Equipment Racking System – The two racking systems must be custom designed steel racks, sized to hold 3 rows of 4 bins each securely without the use of additional restraints during transit. These racks are made from 3/16" structural angle and 14 gauge tubular steel. Once welded, the racks are degreased and spray painted to maximize coverage and minimize rust. The racks are installed in the trailer by securing them to steel strapping panels that are built into the trailer wall (behind the plywood). The strapping panels are welded to the trailer wall posts to distribute the load of the steel racks to enhance the structural integrity and lifespan of the trailer. One will be mounted on each inner wall of the trailer towards the rear leaving 18” from the end of the rack to the rear door. They must also have enough space below the bottom shelf for storage of various equipment.

6. Spare Cylinder Racking System – The racking system must be approximately 35” x 24” x 33”. The unit will hold 8 Spare SCBA Cylinders. The rack will also have storage under the bottom shelf for various equipment. The rack must fit 8 cylinders, 4 wide and 2 high. The unit will be bolted to the floor and sides of the trailer.

7. SCBA WalkAway Bracket Mounting – The brackets will be mounted on the front wall of the trailer. They will be mounted 4 across and 2 high. They will be evenly spaced from each other. Similar strapping panels for the racking systems will be installed in the nose of the trailer where the SCBA unit brackets are attached. While these straps also enhance the structural integrity and lifespan of the trailer, more importantly, they ensure the brackets will stay firmly attached to the wall as the SCBA units are being removed and replaced for training or during an incident
