About this file

This document is a Performance Bond form designed to ensure contractor compliance with contract obligations for the City of Meriden Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) laboratory testing services contract in Connecticut. The bond serves as a guarantee that the contractor will promptly and faithfully perform all work in accordance with the contract terms, drawings, and specifications. The surety named in the bond assumes joint and several liability with the contractor to the owner, binding themselves to complete performance or provide sufficient funds for contract completion. The bond remains in effect throughout the contract term and protects the owner against contractor default.

The Performance Bond specifies that any legal action must be initiated within two years from the date final payment under the contract is due. The surety waives notice of alterations, defaults, or contract extensions made by the owner. Should the contractor default, the owner may either require the surety to complete the contract in accordance with its terms or obtain competitive bids for contract completion, with the surety responsible for costs exceeding the remaining contract balance. The bond amount, contractor identity, surety information, project description, and contract date are to be completed in the blank spaces provided on the form. Only the named owner has the right of action under this bond, and no other person or corporation may bring suit.
