Salient Characteristics for Firearm Storage

1. Market – Secure locker system must be compatible with integrated physical access control system Lenel OnGuard, a system Mann-Grandstaff Veteran Affairs Medical Center (MGVAMC) currently uses for their Physical Access Control System throughout the facility.

2. Functions to be performed- Modular locker solution will be utilized in storage of firearms within MGVAMC Police operations using Lenel OnGuard access control ecosystem.

3. Performance required; or Essential physical characteristics; Dimensions (if applicable)- Specifications are mandated by VA OS&LE.

· Must be compatible with the integrated physical access control system Lenel OnGuard.

· Must track user and equipment transactions.

· Must have an RFID card reader.

· Must have the ability to operate independently from MGVAMC IT system.

· Compartments must be accessible to authorized users at all times.

· Sig P320 (Handgun) compartment sizing needs to be at least 183mm H x 237mm W x 250mm D.

· M4 Rifle compartment sizing needs to be at least 1763mm H x 510mm W x 305mm D.

· 72 compartments for Sig P320 handguns.

· 2 compartments for M4 rifle long guns.

· Overall frame height cannot exceed 72 inches in the weapons storage room.

· Overall frame width cannot exceed 47 inches for one wall in the weapons storage room.

· Overall frame width cannot exceed 59 inches for the other wall in the weapons storage room.

· Overall frame depth cannot exceed 12 inches for the weapons storage room.

· Doors must be solid, not clear (see-through).

· Battery backup required.
