About this file

This Salient Characteristics Sheet outlines detailed specifications for custom tableware required by the 1st Airlift Squadron (1st AS) to support Special Air Mission (SAM) flights for senior government leaders including the president, vice president, and cabinet members. The procurement includes specific quantities of porcelain dishware (420 each of salad plates, soup plates, bread plates, and embassy bowls; 16 each of aircraft mugs and can saucers), stainless steel cutlery (420 each of forks, knives, and dessert spoons), and 20 leather placemats.

The items must feature the SAM FOX emblem in bright platinum metal, with precise dimensional requirements for each piece. The porcelain items must be made from kaolin, feldspar, and quartz, fired at high temperatures for durability, and are not required to be microwave safe. All items must be lightweight yet sturdy, stackable for aircraft storage, heat resistant, and preferably eco-friendly. The Department of the Air Force Headquarters District Washington requires samples for technical evaluation, and plans to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with the winning vendor for future orders to maintain uniformity of dishware.
