About this file
This is a Salient Characteristics document dated 18 March 2026 for the 509 Operations Group (OG) Mission Planning Systems procurement. The government requires one rack-mounted edge compute server designed for intensive CPU-centric mission planning operations authorized to process data up to the TS//SAR classification level.
The required system must be a 2U rack-mounted modular server stack with dual-CPU architecture achieving a PassMark score of 150,000 or higher and capable of executing 120+ parallel processes. Memory specifications include at least 256GB of DDR5 rated at 6000 MT/s or better, with local persistent storage up to 4TB utilizing NVMe M.2 SSD for optimal read/write performance. The server must include 10GbE SFP connectivity to support networked interconnectivity and intra-networked processing across the Operations Group. Additional requirements include updated BIOS firmware for organic administrator maintenance and a modular design to facilitate future system upgrades. The system must operate in ambient conditions of 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit and include a three-year minimum warranty. The specification emphasizes networked collaborative capabilities, shared storage redundancy, and remote-accessed compute augmentation to meet surge requirements for mission planning operations.
