About this file
This document outlines the salient characteristics for a vacuum probe station system solicitation by the Army Research Directorate. The solicitation seeks one vacuum probe station system that can accommodate 2-inch diameter silicon or quartz substrates from 500 micrometers to 1 millimeter thick. It must operate from room temperature to 300 degrees Celsius with integrated vibration isolation. The system requires a vacuum chamber maintaining at least 1x10-5 torr with a 6-port wafer stage. It also needs 6 probe arms for I-V and C-V measurements down to 10 micrometers that can interface with various electrical characterization systems. The automated station must include adjustable X-Y stage control, digital optical inspection from 10 micrometers to a 2-inch substrate, and a vacuum pump maintaining the required vacuum level.

Note: The offeror DOES NOT need to provide any electrical characterization system in the offer.
• The system shall accommodate six (6) probe arms that can hold parametric probes for capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements, and direct current (DC) probes with tip diameters of 10 µm or less.
• The system shall be able to keep the substrate/device-under-test at a vacuum level of at least 1 x 10-5 torr or 1.333 x 10-5 mbar with an included pump system or a specified externally purchased pump system.
• The system shall possess an integrated or provided vibration isolation solution to minimize both vibration and acoustic noise of its surrounding environment.
• The system shall have probe arms that can be manipulated and moved while the substrate or device-under-test is under vacuum.
The automated probe station system shall furthermore include these (bold) components and their (bulleted) features:
