About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document that outlines technical specifications and components for L3Harris Equipment Repair Kits required by the 2nd Air Support Operations Squadron (2 ASOS). The equipment is mission-critical for Special Warfare training and real-world operations to support adaptive mission capabilities and prevent degraded communication package operations. The procurement includes eight primary categories: Transit Case Upgrades for enhanced durability and environmental protection of TACP communication cases; Leak Test Upgrades consisting of specialized tools for verifying pressure seals and environmental integrity of radio housings; an Assembly/Disassembly Bench workstation dedicated to maintenance of L3Harris manpack and handheld radios; and four spares kits containing OEM maintenance components for specific radio models—the 117G Spares Kit for AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios, the 160 Spares Kit for AN/PRC-160(V) wideband HF/VHF radios, the 163 Spares Kit for AN/PRC-163 multi-channel handheld radios, and the 167 Spares Kit for AN/PRC-167 multi-channel manpack radios. Additionally, the requirement includes Communication Hubs, which are ruggedized data and power distribution hubs compatible with L3Harris protocols and power outputs.

The associated pre-solicitation notice (FA5613262ASOS) indicates this is a sole-source acquisition anticipated to WepTac A.G., subject to Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation criteria. The contract will be awarded to the bidder offering the lowest price whose technical proposal meets minimum standards outlined in the salient characteristics document. All responsible sources may submit statements of capability, quotations, bids, or proposals for consideration. Technical data will not be provided with the presolicitation notice, and proposers must ensure their products meet all specified requirements for eligibility. The anticipated contract award date is To Be Determined (TBD) pending receipt of funding. The contracting agency is the Department of the Air Force United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa.
