The trailers must be 24-32 feet long, towable, with specific technical requirements including a white exterior, 7-foot interior height, 18,000 LBS maximum weight, and comprehensive amenities such as a mini-fridge, microwave, interior tool and personal storage, HVAC, integrated generator, marine-style bathroom, sound system, and extensive electrical and lighting configurations.

Requirements Document For 49th Maintenance Group

28 August 2025

1.0 Background

The 49th Maintenance Group, manages maintenance for Holloman’s MQ-19 and F-16 fleet. As part of flying operations, maintainers are required to review aircraft and arm and de-arm weapon systems prior to takeoff and first thing after landing. These crews operate out of End of Runway (EOR) locations around the flightline. During the flying day, these crews must remain at EOR on standby for any aircraft during the fly window. Currently, members use a vehicle (typically a bread van) and sit at EOR for up to 12 hours. At EOR, there are no amenities, no shelter, no HVAC, no restrooms, no power, nothing besides the vehicle they bring and sit in. The need for a EOR trailer with amenities improves the maintenance capabilities by having tools and equipment on hand and amenities that will allow maintainers to remain at EOR without leaving for personal needs.
