About this file
This document presents Salient Characteristics for a telephone system, derived from DAFMAN 13-204V2, Chapter 4. The specifications require a specialized communication system with multiple technical requirements, including an additional extension for monitoring and training, independence from other networks, and operation on a dedicated Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN).
The telephone system must have specific features such as a visual indicator that activates when two-way parties pick up the handset, noise reduction capabilities like push-to-talk handsets or mute functions, and must be currently JITC Certified and listed on the Approved Products List (APL) for the US Conference System (UCCS). These requirements suggest the system is intended for sensitive or mission-critical communication environments, likely within a military or government context, with an emphasis on clear, secure, and monitored communication channels.
