Salient Characteristics for a Brand Name or Equal to Total inorganic Carbon Autoanalyzer Mfr. UIC

The USGS Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center requires the analyses of Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC) by acidification and Coulometric Detection in water and sediment samples. These analyses are essential to investigating the source and fate of carbon in estuaries and marshes, seafloor methane seeps and in natural waters. The TIC analyzer will support ongoing and planned research activities by multiple research groups within the center.

Salient Characteristics/Components:

The TIC analyzer must have the following salient characteristics and components:

· CO2 Coulometer, Auto-Acidification Module, and 30+ position autosampler for the analysis of solid or liquid samples.

· CO2 detector with readability to 0.01 ug Carbon

· No user calibration required

· Linear detection from less than 1 ug carbon to over 10,000 ug carbon

· Relative standard deviation of 0.2% or better in standard materials

· Sample acidification module with selectable volume acid dispenser, internal air pump with flow controller, pre-acidification scrubber for removal of CO2, post-acidification scrubber of interfering compounds

· Autosampler with minimum of 30 sample positions

· Conforms to ASTM standard D513

Brand Name or Equal to UIC, Inc. Model CM245SN Total Inorganic Carbon Autoanalyzer with Acidification unit and autosampler
