About this file
The document is a detailed Salient Characteristics specification for an Ion Chromatography (IC) system for the U.S. Geological Survey. The comprehensive technical requirements cover multiple system components including a HPIC pump, conductivity detector, suppression system, column oven, eluent generation, separation column set, autosampler, and software. Key specifications mandate a high-pressure compatible system with nonmetallic fluid path components, capable of operating at 5000 psi, supporting multiple eluent types (KOH, Carbonate, MSA), and offering advanced features like electrolytic suppression, sample filtration, and 64-bit software with automatic data analysis capabilities.
The warranty terms include comprehensive onsite repairs with full labor, parts, and travel coverage for the first year, additional non-consumable parts coverage for two more years, and optional extended warranties for the instrument's lifetime. The system must meet EPA Methods 300.0 and 300.1, support multiple column configurations, handle vial sizes from 0.5-5mL, and provide software features like real-time integration monitoring, customizable reporting, and third-party instrumentation control. Potential vendors are required to submit a capabilities package demonstrating technical qualifications, past performance, and socioeconomic status by 9:00 AM EST on July 17, 2025, to jmdunning@usgs.gov.
