1.1 Background

The Coast Guard must replace to replace a 26 year old Mobile Boat Hoist (MBH) (Kleeco model #SP600H) located in Honolulu, HI. The necessity of having a mobile boat hoist offers many options to the unit: One is to keep the boats out of the water when repairs are needed and not in use. Secondly the MBH will allow the unit to quickly launch and remove boats when the need arises. Other factors included in the final decision of procuring the MBH are the certifiable capability of a newer MBH. This is critical to the operation and success of Small Boat availabilities at IPF Honolulu.
