1. Background
The St. Petersburg, Florida, Veterans Affairs Regional Office (VARO) consistently has difficulties of maintaining the temperature inside Building 46. The major contributing factor for the air temperature stability or lack thereof is the replacement of numerous VAV boxes. As of September 5, 2024, the St. Petersburg VARO must replace approximately one hundred seventy-eight (178) terminal units to manage the air temperatures within Building 46.
2. Scope
Contractor will provide all labor, personnel, transportation, materials, apparatus, tools, equipment, services, and supervision necessary to perform the installation of one hundred seventy-eight (178) terminal units. Furthermore, upon replacing the terminal units, the Contractor will also ensure that the units are connected to and compatible with the existing Johnson Controls Metasys, which shall include graphic display, location on floor drawings, and functionality. The replacement terminal units will appear and function on metasys as do the existing terminal units being displayed on the Johnson Controls Metasys. The Contractor shall also replace the existing thermostat. Upon completion of replacing the terminal units, the Contractor will ensure that the ceiling grid and ceiling tiles are returned to preexisting condition.
The Contractor will conduct a joint final punch list with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) that ensures all units are functioning appropriately.
2.1 Submittals
Material submittals shall be distributed to the COR and the Contracting Officer for review before installation and application. The Contractor shall create, update, distribute, file, maintain, reproduce, and allow VA access to documents necessary or appropriate in the performance of work under this Statement of Work. The Contractor is responsible for all submittals meeting the VA specifications and requirements. All submittals will be presumed to meet the VA specifications unless the Contractor has requested a variance in writing and approved by COR prior to providing the submittal. The Contractor, at no expense to VA, must correct and resubmit improperly prepared records rejected by the COR.
The Contractor shall provide all applicable material submittals for this project to be reviewed by the COR and the Contracting Officer.
