About this file

This document is a brand name justification under the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13.5 Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks to award a new firm-fixed-price contract for glucose sensors from Guardian Medical Monitoring to be delivered within 10 days of order placement. The justification cites FAR 13.5 and 41 U.S.C. 1901 to restrict competition for this procurement on the basis that Guardian Medical Monitoring is the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's needs. The solicitation will be conducted under simplified procedures for commercial items by the Charleston Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy of the Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 15.
