Special Notice
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
Microwave Ablation System
The Department of Veterans Affairs Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(b) – Items peculiar to one manufacturer. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1,250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (Varian), small business, authorized distributor, Advanced Critical Devices, 7005 S. Edgerton Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.
The Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CLE VAMC) is procuring the IntelliBlate Microwave Ablation System, a medical device used for tissue ablation procedures, particularly in oncology for the treatment of tumors. This system employs microwave energy to generate controlled thermal ablation of targeted tissues.
The unit includes the IntelliBlate system with integrated myAblation Guide software deployed on the syngo.via View&Go platform and is delivered with a mobile cart for clinical portability. The purchase also includes IntelliBlate Ximitry Probes in multiple lengths (15cm, 20cm, and 27cm) and a temperature sensor probe (18G x 20cm) to support procedural flexibility across patient needs.
Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday, July 11, 2025, at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
